What's A HealthStyle?

We all know that lifestyle is the typical way we live our lives – our method – our philosophy. Many people would like to enhance their lifestyles with improved wellness, but going about it can be difficult – even daunting. HealthStyle helps you do just that by infusing your lifestyle with healthy choices that result in more energy and a greater sense of well-being.HealthStyle is simply incorporating healthy changes into your current lifestyle without getting bogged down or overwhelmed. The key is simplicity. Having a successful HealthStyle doesn’t mean training for a marathon or following complicated dietary and exercise regimens. HealthStyle is your own unique formula for wellness that takes all of you into consideration incorporating: food, exercise, social outlets and spirituality.
Your HealthStyle Plan May Include Some of These Simple Strategies:
- Keeping nutritious snacks at home, work and in your car
- Having the ingredients for “go-to” emergency meals in your pantry
- Supporting your local Farmers’ Market by buying fresh fruits and veggies (a win-win)
- Walking or biking instead of driving
- Trying out something new like a Pilates, Tai Chi, yoga or dance class
- Joining a book club or networking group
- Meeting with a friend you haven’t seen in awhile
- Getting an extra hour of sleep each night
- Setting aside time for quiet reflection, prayer or meditation
Creating a HealthStyle that works for you may only add a short amount of time to your routine, but the rewards will be felt throughout the whole day. It’s my goal that my tips will give you the vision to create your own unique Healthstyle without spending hours at the gym or your evenings cooking complicated meals.
While Rome wasn’t built in a day, it’s a great place to begin. The key is to start small. Pick one area of your health to work on and focus on making one small change at a time. For instance, if you’re not a breakfast eater, start each day by enjoying a nutritious one. After that healthy habit is established, add another one, like taking a walk each evening. Before you know it, each baby step will have turned into leaps and bounds toward greater health and well-being. Soon you will have four or five healthy new habits to celebrate. Your energy will be higher and your health will be much improved. Don’t be surprised if you get more compliments on your appearance too. When you build wellness from the inside out, it shows.
