Burn Fat From Dusk To Dawn

Want to know how to burn fat from dusk to dawn? No, you don’t have to quit your job and work out every minute of the day. Actually, you’re probably already burning more fat than you realize. You see, your body doesn’t care whether you’re at the gym or if you’re wearing sneakers and workout gear. If you’re moving your body, you’re burning fat. It’s that simple.

So, here are some easy ways for you to boost your metabolism throughout the day.

  1. Eat within 30 minutes of waking up and you’ll burn an additional 150 calories each day. That adds up to nearly 55 thousand calories at the end of the year.
  2. Wear a pedometer at least one workday and one weekend day each week. Try for about 10 thousand steps per day. It’ll probably mean getting out of your seat a few more times each day, but if you can average 10 thousand every day, you’ll burn a total of 182 thousand calories at the end of the year.
  3. Link weekend chores together to turn it into a fat burning workout. Rake leaves, then walk the dog and wash the car. It’ll be the most productive workout you ever had.
  4. Stay hydrated. Your metabolic rate gets an energy burst within 10 minutes of drinking ice cold water. Studies have shown that it stays elevated for 30 minutes after drinking. So, it’s best to stay hydrated all day, but you should especially be sure to drink water about 15-20 minutes before meals.
  5. Swap coffee for green tea. Studies have shown that the polyphenols in green tea work with caffeine to give your fat burning efforts a boost.
  6. Eat iron-rich foods like spinach, beans and artichokes. If your body is short on iron, your cells won’t get enough oxygen, which slows down metabolism.

Burn That Fat

Your metabolism is running day and night, but it doesn’t always go at the same speed. To truly get your metabolism running at full tilt, your body needs to warm up. Any time you move your body (use muscle) or consume spicy foods, you’re revving up your metabolism.

Here are 3 keys to burning fat:

Eat more. Whenever you eat, you’re starting a process called the thermic effect. That’s a technical way of saying that eating heats up your body. If you eat smaller meals more often, your body will burn more calories during the day. Research shows that people who eat five meals a day are more likely to lose weight than those eating three meals a day. Other studies show that an inconsistent meal pattern (say, eating three meals one day and six the next) will significantly slow your metabolism.

Move more. If you move your body, you raise your body temperature and burn more fat and calories – period. Sometimes all it takes is walking up a flight of stairs a few times a day. No amount of exercise is too small; it all adds up.

Laugh more. Laughing will help to warm your body. The warmer your body, the higher your metabolism. It’s a good argument for choosing a funny movie over watching the news.

My final fat burning tip.

Practice portion control!

I know; it’s easier said than done. But here is a simple guide that keeps control in the palm your hands.

Fruit serving      = the size of your fist

Cereal/grains     = your cupped hand

Veggies                = 1 ½ cupped hands

Protein                 = open palm

This is a quick way to make more reasonable choices on the fly. Weight loss is always more challenging when you overeat at meals.
