Tip 22- Fix your Broken Metabolism (Part 3)

Sunday, September 20th, 2009

Surprising ways to fix your broken metabolism…

  1. Drink more water. Your body needs water to work effectively, this includes your metabolism.
  2. Laugh daily. Research shows that you burn 10-40 extra calories with every laughing session. This may not seem like much, but it all adds up!
  3. Get your B vitamins. These vitamins are key to having a fully functioning metabolism. Low levels of Vit B can leave you feeling tired and depressed; and it will slow down your metabolism.

Today’s tip: Always carry your water bottle and stay hydrated (your urine should be clear or almost clear). Rent some funny movies this weekend. To get vitamin B eat more spinach, asparagus, bean/lentils, poultry and eggs.

Tip 12- Prevent Swine Flu

Thursday, September 10th, 2009

The news is reporting that 50% of U.S. citizens will get the Swine Flu. I believe that our best form of action is to take extra precautions, remain calm, and be rational.

Tips to protect you and your family:

  • Get your vitamin D levels checked. Low levels of D will impede your immune system, making it more difficult for your body to fight the virus. If needed, take vitamin D supplements, with the approval of your health care professional..
  • Wash hands for at least 20 seconds.
  • Stay hydrated. A dehydrated cell has a more difficult time fighting off bugs.
  • Keep your hands out of your nose/eyes.
